How to build a puzzle (Dedicated to laizhufu)

1) First, draw a structure. For example:

HHHHHHHHH_


The most important thing of a puzzle is the internal structure. This structure has 3 rooms (a big room above, and 2 smaller below), and 4 passages that connect the rooms.

Do you think that this structure can be achieved interesting puzzle? I do not know. Maybe, maybe not... There are to be tested :)


2) Second, we place the goals. Where? Where we want. I usually put the goals connected, because they result in aesthetically beautiful puzzles. For example:

H_..____H_
H_..H___H_

3) Finally, put the boxes. The placement of the boxes is the least important. Do various tests, and choose the placement that offers greater difficulty in solving the puzzle. For example:

And that's the finished puzzle :)   Like it?


Note that with the same structure we can get several different puzzles. For example, we now place the goals in the up room:

Or, we can change the square in a line:

To get a puzzle must to do many tests, and patience. Also, experience and intuition.

PS. By the way, do not worry to get "difficult" puzzles. The difficulty is just a consequence of the lack of free spaces :)

The most important thing is to build many interesting puzzles, and if they are beautiful, much better. Each 100 puzzles, sometimes gets one hard ... is a matter of chance. That is all.
