These are the steps:
1. Solve a layer. Pick a center and solve the 4 corners around it. Solving a layer is intuitive and it just takes practice to get comfortable with it, just like it is for solving a cross on a 3x3x3.

2. Solve the opposite layer. This involves solving the corners of the last layer (CLL) while placing the center that belongs on the U face. There are two kinds of CLLs, "L" and "pi", okay... three if you count the one with the corners already solved. Since there are five places where the U center can be, there is a total of 10 (+1) cases to solve this layer.
