ALTEKRUSE PUZZLES
Similar to Burr puzzles but with uniform pieces. This puzzle was patented in 1890 by W. Altekruse. Solutions are primarily dependent on determining the necessary sequence of assembly, although proper orientation of each piece is also required. The puzzle will stay together until one group of pieces is slid. The overall difficulty is generally proportional to the number of pieces. These puzzles are made from Walnut, or Walnut and Hard Maple.
PUZZLES WITH IDENTICAL PIECES MAY BE ASSEMBLED TWO WAYS: 74 or 72 pieces, 38 or 36 pieces, and 14 or 12 pieces.
