国外的 lubix elite 是不是就是凌云？

I'm not sure if everyone knows, but in regards to the Ultimate, I do a 48 point edge mod on every cube. If you have a regular GuHong, lubed my way (Ultimate method) or not, you know what I'm talking about. There's a pretty obnoxious click that is caused when the corner pieces slide over the edges. I remove this catching spot on all the ones I make because I found that it decreases locking, and gives the cube a smoother feel. At that expense, a lot of people like Anthony said have a hard time controlling them at first. I'm very used to the cube now, and never experience any unintentional turns. It's not so much what the cube is doing, but what the cuber is doing that's causing the unintended slices. Once you get a better feel on how to anticipate how the cube is going to react to different turns and algs, you quit running into this. The Ultimate performs better to fast decided moves, better than to brute force.

The ELITE. This is really my search for the perfect cube from where we're at now. Like I've said before, I think it'll be a tall order for a cube to be released that out-performs the GuHong. What I'm doing is removing the last of the over-sites in it's design that allow it to be even better than out of the box. Everyone knows that unlubed the GuHong is pretty bad. Lube the core, and it starts moving really well... but still has a click, and springs still squeak. Lubed the Ultimate method (internal parts of the springs, screws, washer, and center piece) and the cube spins even better... but still has the click. That's where I come in. It takes quite a bit of time to mod each cube, like I said, I mod 48 spots on it... but for what I'm looking to send into the cubing world, it's worth my time. I don't see any other stores having the time or the interest in doing what I'm doing. If it's not perfect, I don't want my name stamped on it.

On the ELITE, I'm trying to turn it into the perfect cube. A cube that I want to use all day. There are still several sharp edges on both the corners, and edges, that when rounded give the Ultimate GuHong even better performance. (The processing of turning it into an ELITE) I do the V-5 corner mod, and get rid of the sharp edge on the top of the corner. I round all of the touching parts on each corner, both on the top, side, and bottom edge of the flange that holds the corner in the cube. On the edges, I do even more rounding... I noticed that over long periods that a spot on the edge was causing wear on the corner, so I roll-off that spot as well. I round the bottom tab that the corners slide over, and this allows the corners to slide onto the edges rather than jump onto them.

All said and done, these are some of the comparisons that I can make of the ELITE compared to the Ultimate. The Elite actually has an increased amount of su**ce area, and therefore slows it down a bit compared to the Ultimate, and makes it much more controllable. It has the same, if not better corner cutting ability. It has a slight decrease in reverse corner cutting. It has a huge decrease in locking. While the Ultimates that I send out are not very prone to locking, some perms I use such as the F, or Y have quite a bit of binding turns, and the ELITE moves thru them much easier than the Ultimate.

I've been really happy with my final results on the ELITE. But compared to what most online stores are doing as far as selling cubes, the amount of time that it takes to get each Ultimate from a DIY state, to what you receive in the mail, is about as much as I can keep on top of at the moment. I average about 30 minutes to make each Ultimate. About 2 hours past that for the ELITE.

I could easily follow form, and have the cubes assembled for my by the manufacturer, and simply be a middle man in getting them distributed amongst the masses. (Not saying this is wrong by any means...) But that's not my place here. I want people to have the best cubes they can get. And until somebody puts the attention into a cube like I do, that cube is the Ultimate.

But I'm just one guy, so for now I'm able to keep up with the demand of the Ultimate, but have a hard time finding the extra hours to make ELITEs in mass. I kinda let the cat out of the bag a bit early on the ELITE, but was really interested in what others thought of my handy work.

So, for now it's like this. I'm going to keep spending most of my days building Ultimates. Once I find ways that I can keep the Ultimates being made faster and keeping the finished cubes to my standards, (such as hiring people to do the corner and edge assembly) I'll be able to free up time and get some of the ELITEs out there. I'd like to be able to have a larger amount of them ready at one time, than my current 1-off custom orders.

I'm at my iPad right now, and don't have any of the pictures that I've done on the comparison's of the Ultimate - ELITE, but when I have some time, I'll put some up here for you to see.
