据Tom Rokicki个人主页上的最新介绍，他们已经证明了还原三阶魔方的最少步数为22步，而且他们正在向21步努力。

We just proved that all positions of Rubik's cube canbe solvedin 22 or fewer face turns. (The link is to the proof of 25; the proofof 22 is essentially the same with just a lot of sets solved.)A nice article reporting this result is in the August 6th issue ofNew Scientist. This proof was madepossible by the generous contribution of CPU time from Sony Pictures Imageworkswith the help ofJohn Welborn,on the same machines usedfor movies such as Spider-Man 3 andSurf's Up. I'm currently working on 21.

书上说用超级计算机计算没有低过20的，应该是20步

回复15楼的魔友，18步是不可能的了。因为目前已找到至少需要20步的状态了，就是所有角块不变，12个棱原地反色。
